CONNECTION STARTS WITH TRUST
Take care of your connection. And yourself.
A good connection respects your comfort, privacy, and right to change your mind. These precautions can reduce risk, but no app or checklist can guarantee safety.

Background checks and badges
LumaPair does not conduct criminal background screenings on its members. We cannot independently confirm every profile claim. No badge is a safety endorsement.
- Sign-in: access through Google, Apple, or email is account authentication, not proof of age or identity.
- Phone verification: where enabled, confirms access to a number at the time of a check. Numbers can be shared, reassigned, or used deceptively.
- Government ID or live selfie: these checks are not connected in the current service. An incomplete or unavailable check must not be read as verified.
Even an identity check cannot predict conduct, intentions, or relationship compatibility. Take your time getting to know someone, whether or not a badge appears.
Protect your information
- Keep early conversations in the app. Avoid sharing your home/work address, daily routine, banking information, passwords, one-time codes, or identity documents.
- Check what your photos reveal about where you live or work. Do not assume another person cannot take a screenshot or record a call.
- Only enable location, microphone, and camera permissions when you want to use those features. Revoke permissions through your browser when needed.
- Never pay a member to “verify” you, release a gift, unlock an investment, or solve an emergency. Be cautious about requests for transfers, cryptocurrency, gift cards, or financial help.
Consent is ongoing
A match does not entitle anyone to a reply, call, date, photo, or physical contact. Ask before calling, recording, sharing someone’s details, or changing the nature of an interaction. Accept a no without pressure.
You can stop a conversation or leave a meeting at any time. Threats, repeated contact after a boundary, sexual pressure, and attempts to isolate you are reasons to step back and seek support. Harm is never the fault of the person experiencing it.
Before meeting in person
- Consider a brief in-app video call first, while remembering that video is not a background check.
- Choose a busy public place, arrange your own transportation, and tell someone you trust where you are going and when you expect to return.
- Keep control of your phone, belongings, food, and drink. Have a way to leave independently.
- If something feels wrong, leave or ask staff or someone you trust for help. You do not owe an explanation that puts your safety at risk.
Block, report, and get help
Use a member’s profile or conversation controls to block or report them. Describe the concern and relevant dates. For conversation reports, you can decide whether to include recent message context for an administrator to review. Blocking is available independently of sharing that context.
If you cannot sign in, use the contact form. Include the member’s displayed name or profile reference and enough detail to identify the concern. Do not send passwords, identity documents, or explicit material, especially anything involving a minor.
If you suspect a crime, contact local authorities or an appropriate support service. Preserve relevant information only where lawful and safe. Reporting to LumaPair does not replace contacting emergency services or law enforcement.
